Chapters were introduced to the Bible in 1238 by Cardinal Hugo de S. Caro. Verse divisions were not added until 1551 by Robertus Stephanus.
The shortest chapter in the Bible is Psalm 117 with only 2 verses.
MARK 5:14-17: "Those tending the pigs ran off and reported this in the town and countryside, and the people went out to see what had happened. When they came to Jesus, they saw the man who had been possessed by the legion of demons, sitting there, dressed and in his right mind; and they were afraid. Those who had seen it told the people what had happened to the demon-possessed man--and told about the pigs as well. Then the people began to plead with Jesus to leave their region."
According to the Book of Daniel, Belshazzar, king of Babylon, held a great feast during which he saw a hand writing on a wall with the Aramaic words mene, mene, tekel, upharsin, which Daniel interpreted as a judgment from God foretelling the fall of Babylon. That very night, Belshazzar was slain.
EXODUS 31:18: "When the Lord finished speaking to Moses on Mount Sinai, he gave him the two tablets of the covenant law, the tablets of stone inscribed by the finger of God."
