Jake "The Snake" Plummer, born in Boise in 1974, spent ten seasons in the National Football League playing for the Arizona Cardinals and the Denver Broncos. A dual threat, his best season was 2004, when he threw for 4,089 yards and 27 touchdowns, along with 202 yards and 1 TD on the ground.
Treasure Valley is a valley in the western United States, primarily in southwestern Idaho, where the Payette, Boise, Weiser, Malheur, Owyhee, and Burnt rivers drain into the Snake River. It includes all the lowland areas from Vale in rural eastern Oregon to Boise, and is the most populated area in Idaho.
When it opened in 1927, the local press wrote that the Egyptian Theatre embodied "the characteristic features of the land of the Nile, from the truncated pyramids which form the great pylons, to the lotus bud pillars with their ornate frescoes." The theatre's architecture was inspired by the newly discovered tomb of King Tut. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1974.
In 2003, incumbent Boise mayor H. Brent Coles resigned after being charged with the misuse of public funds. In February 2003, Carolyn Terteling-Payne was appointed as interim mayor, making her the first female mayor of Boise, Idaho.
