Stew Leonard's was dubbed the "Disneyland of Dairy Stores" by the New York Times, because of its costumed characters, scheduled entertainment, petting zoo, and animatronics throughout the stores.
The park's most distinguished tree is the gigantic weeping beech located near the pavilion on the Great Lawn. The well known tree, a rare variety that does not grow naturally in Connecticut, is at least 100 years old.
