He added that the meaning of the song reflects on specific things that were a source of pain in his life, and also finding the perspective in which he could be appreciative of the pain and turn it into a strength.

"Weird Al" Yankovic recorded a parody version entitled "Inactive" for his 2014 album Mandatory Fun. The band even gave him some advice on how to recreate some of the original song's sounds and effects.
