In 1777, when Mozart traveled to Mannheim in search of employment, he fell in love with Aloysia Weber, but he was unable to find work and left town. When he returned, Aloysia had lost interest. He would later marry her sister Constanze.
During one of his stays in Paris, Mozart roomed with journalist, art critic, and diplomat Friedrich Melchior, Baron von Grimm who, as personal secretary of the Duke of Orleans, lived in the ducal mansion. Grimm, a man with strong opinions, nicknamed "Tyrant le Blanc", did not get along well with Mozart and the situation did not last long.
