Always take a big bite
It's such a gorgeous sight
To see you eat in the middle of the night
You can never get enough
Enough of this stuff
It's Friday, I'm in love
One of the co-founders of The Cure, drummer Lol Tolhurst was asked to leave the band due to alcohol and drug use. During the Disintegration sessions, the rest of the band gave Smith an ultimatum that either Tolhurst would have to leave or they would. Years later, they buried the hatchet and Tolhurst joined the band for a 2011 reunion tour.
Following the musical scheme of "Close to Me", which builds up instrumentally, all the band members are inside the wardrobe, but not playing instruments. Boris Williams is clapping to the beat, keyboardist Lol Tolhurst is playing a very small, handheld keyboard, and Porl Thompson is on the top shelf plucking a comb. Bassist Simon Gallup does not play and appears to be tied up.
Robert Smith always vowed that The Cure's music would never be used in adverts, but even Robert Smith has the let go of his principles from time to time. "Anyone who knows The Cure knows that the only reason I had to agree to those adverts was because we were about to be out of contract with Polydor and I had to. If I was going to retain control over our back catalogue, my trade-off was giving the one song to use for an advert with no vocals, that was it, so we gave them "In Between Days" for the Fiat Punto.... There was no singing and no-one knew it was us, and that was fine."
I'm smitten I'm bitten I'm hooked I'm cooked
I'm stuck like glue
You make me, make me, make me, make me hungry for you
Everything you do is simply dreamy
Everything you do is quite delicious
So why can't I be you?
