A tarantula bite generally poses little threat to humans. It will probably feel a lot like a bee sting, with localized pain and redness.

While most species of tarantulas are brown, they come in a wide variety of colors, including blue (cobalt blue tarantula) and pink (Antilles pinktoe tarantula).

Most tarantulas live in South America, but they can be found on all continents except Antarctica.
