Billed as "The Sound and the Fury", Mike Tyson's June 28, 1997 boxing match with Evander Holyfield for the WBA Heavyweight Championship was afterwards referred to as "The Bite Fight". Tyson was, of course, disqualified. Doctors performed a 90-minute surgical procedure to close up the wound on Holyfield's ear, but weren't able to reattach the missing portion which disappeared mysteriously during the ambulance ride.
Tyson was arrested in July 1991 for the rape of 18-year-old Desiree Washington, Miss Black Rhode Island, in an Indianapolis hotel room. Tyson maintained his innocence throughout the trial, but the jury found him guilty. Partial corroboration of Washington's story came via testimony from Tyson's chauffeur, who confirmed the woman's state of shock after the incident. While in prison, he converted to Islam and adopted the Muslim name Malik Abdul Aziz.
He decided to get a tribal tattoo on his face that would become one of his most recognizable features. He would later reveal that he wanted his face to be covered in heart tattoos because he thought it was cool and that he'd then be recognized as 'The Man of Hearts'. The tattoo artist advised him against this.
Four months before becoming the youngest heavyweight champion in history, Mike Tyson fought the son of another legendary champ. On July 26, 1986, Tyson took on Marvis Frazier, the son of Joe Frazier. Frazier was 16-1 coming in but got smoked by Iron Mike in just 30 seconds.
Mike Tyson won gold at the 1981 Junior Olympics at 15 years of age, knocking out his opponent, Joe Cortez, with a devastating double combination in an astonishing eight seconds.

Tyson earned $400 million in the ring during his career, but filed for bankruptcy in 2003 thanks to years of reckless spending. At the time, the media reported that he was approximately $23 million in debt.
