When Roy tries to attack Jim for kissing Pam, Dwight subdues him with pepper spray. Angela, aroused by Dwight's heroics, repeatedly asks witnesses to recount the tale.

Feeling that Ryan's "Dunder Mifflin Infinity" initiative is a ploy to get rid of older workers, Creed dyes his hair black with printer ink in an attempt to convince everyone that he is much younger.

After Angela dumps him, Dwight withdraws to the online virtual world of Second Life, where he creates an avatar named Dwight Shelford, also a paper salesman, patterned after his once-perfect real life.

Ryan is eventually released and required to work community service.

In "Fun Run", Michael accidentally hits Meredith Palmer with his car, sending her to the hospital with a fractured pelvis.

Karen enjoys playing first-person shooter PC games. Her Call of Duty screen name is "KarenTheJimSlayer."

Ryan is embarrassed when Michael awards him "Hottest in the Office".

Season 3 ends with Wallace offering Jan's job to Ryan, despite the fact that he has never made a sale. Wallace indicates that Ryan's MBA was a key factor. A gleeful Ryan accepts and immediately breaks up with Kelly.

Kelly starts a relationship with Darryl, mostly to make Ryan jealous. When the new couple gets into a fight, Kelly tells the documentary crew, "Darryl Philbin is the most complicated man I have ever met. I mean, who says exactly what they're thinking? What kind of game is that?"

In "Business School", Dwight discovers a bat in the ceiling. Jim calls animal control, but Dwight insists on catching the bat himself. When the bat lands on Meredith, Dwight traps it in a garbage bag along with Meredith's head. In a later episode ("Fun Run"), it is revealed that Meredith was bitten and had to get a precautionary rabies shot.
